Studio Policies

Stage Door Dance Studio Policies

These policies help keep classes organized, respectful, and focused for dancers and families. For current season dates, tuition, and registration details, please contact the studio directly.

Parent and Student Support

Parents play an important role in supporting dancers financially and emotionally. Please encourage your child to be the best they can be, regardless of what others may achieve.

All students progress at different rates, even with the same training. We encourage dancers to focus on their own growth, give their best effort, and take pride in their accomplishments.

Our dance programs are designed to help children build self-discipline, self-confidence, and self-esteem while enjoying the fun and creativity that comes from dance classes.

Studio Environment

The lobby is available for the convenience of students and families. Please respect classes in session, leave room for dancers to change shoes and prepare for class, and keep noise at a reasonable level.

Only water and tightly covered drinks should be brought into waiting areas. Students and parents should not go behind the office desk. If you need help, please ask a staff member.

Children must be supervised at all times and are not free to run around the lobby, hallways, or classroom areas. Students are expected to show respect for teachers, classmates, families, and staff.

Parents and students should never interrupt a class in session. Inappropriate behavior may result in dismissal from the studio.

Classroom Expectations

No gum, food, or sodas are allowed in the dance rooms. Snacks and meals should be eaten in the reception area. Water bottles are permitted.

Cell phones are not allowed in class. If a student needs to be contacted during class, please call the front desk and staff will relay the message.

No outside street shoes are allowed in any dance room.

Arrival and Pickup

Students should arrive no sooner than 15 minutes before class begins and should be picked up promptly after class is dismissed.

The studio is not responsible for students once their class has ended.

Students arriving more than 15 minutes late may not be allowed to participate unless the studio has been notified in advance.

Substitute Teachers

Stage Door Dance Studio reserves the right to provide a substitute teacher if the regularly scheduled teacher is unable to teach class.

Students should still attend class when a substitute teacher is covering the class.

Weather Closures

Stage Door Dance Studio does not automatically follow Prince William County Public Schools for weather-related closures or delays.

Please check your email or the studio's social media before coming to class. Afternoon and evening class updates are typically announced by 2 PM when weather affects the schedule.

Tuition and Accounts

Tuition is based on the dance season, not by individual class or month. Registration fees, tuition policies, and payment timelines may change by season.

Families are expected to keep payment information current in the studio system. Payments, late fees, returned payment fees, and account balances are handled according to the current season's studio policies.

Payments are non-refundable and non-transferable unless otherwise stated by the studio. Please contact the office with questions about your account.

Absences and Withdrawals

Missed classes may be made up according to current studio make-up policies. No credit or refund is given for student absences, holiday closures, or weather-related closures.

Students withdrawing from a class must notify the studio before the monthly deadline to avoid future charges. Please contact the office for current withdrawal deadlines and account details.

Dress Code and Belongings

Students are expected to follow the studio dress code. Hair must be pulled up for all classes and must be in a bun for ballet classes.

Dancers should bring all required shoes for each class. A clean, consistent dress code helps teachers see body alignment clearly and make proper corrections.

Please label belongings with the student's name. Lost and found items left for an extended period may be donated.
