Fall 2023-2024 Dress Code

Welcome to Season 32 at Stage Door Dance Studio!

To our Stage Door Parents

As a parent, you play an important role in supporting your student financially, but your emotional support is of even greater value. Please encourage your child to be the best that he or she can be, regardless of what others may achieve. All students will progress at a different rate, even if they experience the exact same training. What comes easily for one student may present more of a challenge for another.

It's important to encourage children to focus on them- selves, give their all, and be proud of their own accomplishments.

Our dance programs will give children selfdiscipline, self-confidence, and self-esteem. Hopefully, dancers will receive discipline that will carry with them for life; while enjoying the much needed fun that comes from their classes.

Studio Environment

Please note that the lobby is made available for the convenience of our students and their families. We ask that you please respect the classes in session and the areas around you. Please allow room for dancers to change shoes and prepare for their upcoming classes.

We ask that the noise level from siblings and parents waiting be kept at a reasonable level when classes are in session. Please only bring water and tightly covered drinks. Your courtesy will be greatly appreciated. Students and parents should not go behind the office desk for any reason. Should you need help with something, please ask one of our staff members. Parents and students should never interrupt a class in session.

Children must be supervised at all times and are not free to run around the lobby, hallways or classroom areas. Never speak negatively about teachers, students, or parents from other studios this includes social media. All students must show respect for their teachers at all times. Inappropriate behavior could result in dismissal from the studio.

Classrooms

There is to be no gum, food or sodas in the dance studios at any time. Students must eat snacks/dinner in the reception area. Water bottles are permitted. NO CELL PHONES allowed in the classroom. If a student's cell phone is seen it will re- main at the desk for the remainder of the evening. If you need to get in contact with a student that is in class, please call the front desk and our staff will happily relay the message to your student. No outside street shoes are allowed in ANY DANCE ROOMS.

ALL STUDENTS WITHDRAWING FROM A CLASS MUST DO SO PRIOR TO THE 25TH OF THE MONTH TO AVOID THE FOLLOWING MONTH CHARGE. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN.

Dress Code

It's important that students abide by a dress code policy for the following reasons: A neat and tidy appearance sets an attitude of attentiveness and respect for students, teacher, and the art of dance. Also, teachers must be able to see the dancer's body outline clearly in order to make proper corrections on posture, alignment, etc.

Hair must be pulled up for all classes. Hair must be in a bun for ballet classes. No t-shirts, gum or baggy sweat pants.

ALL ballet students must wear a black leotard and pink tights for ballet. Ballet Skirts are allowed.

For all other classes Black leotards, sports bras and tight fitting bottoms are allowed. It is very important to have ALL of your shoes with you for every class.

Lost and Found

All students need to have their name on the inside of all be- longings at the end of every 2 months all clothes left for that time will be donated.

WWe look forward to a great year ahead and seeing your child grow and develop as a dancer and student during their time this year at SDDS!
